Kumbhalgarh is the birthplace of many legends, and Maharana Pratap is one of them. It is located around 84 KM from the city Udaipur and is the second visited place in the Mewar region after Chittorgarh. Fort was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha. Kumbalgarh is surrounding by the Aravali ranges.

Kumbhalgarh Fort:

 

Kumbhalgarh Fort is the Mewar fortification and is located in the western Aravalli Hills of Rajsamand district. It is one of the famous heritage sites and a pretty popular and most visited place in Rajasthan. It was built in the 15-19th century by Rana Kumbha. It is the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, a great kind of Mewar. Fort is open for the public to know about its history.

 

Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary:

 

 It is spread in 578 sq km and stretching across the Aravalli range. This wildlife sanctuary witnessed to pleasant surprise for those who consider Rajasthan as a desert state. The Green tract of the park is divided into two major parts of the Rajasthan, which are Mewar and Marwar.

 

Badal Mahal:

 

It is also a prominent part of the Fort and divided into two major sections, such as Zanana and Mardana halls for ladies and gents. Architecture wise both the parts are pretty astonishing, and the view from the top is quite spending.

 

Neelkanth Mahadeo Temple:

Mammadev Temple is situated right below the Kumbhalgarh Fort. It has four huge slabs with some inscription upon them, but all of these have been transferred to the Udaipur Museum with time.

 

Vedi Temple:

 

Vedi Temple is situated in the fort premises, and it is a reserved Jain temple and associated with the Goddess Vedi. This temple stood on the 36 pillars and was built by the Rana Kumbha.
