Akshardham temple is one of the famous temples in the state of Gujarat. It illustrates the influence of the deep root of Swaminarayan with Gujarat. Akshardham specifies that it is divine of God, and the Akshardham temple is built in honor of Swaminarayan by BAPS Swaminarayan Sansthan. If we talk about the architectural style of the Akshardham temple, it is made of approximately 6000 metric tons of sandstone, especially from the Rajasthan. Temple features a fantastic seven feet tall statue of Swaminarayan weighing around 1.2 tons and sets it up in the central hall.

You will find the footprint made of marbles with 16 sacred signs of God at the entrance of the temple. Temple is located in the center of the city on around 23 acres of land. It is said that artisans spent their valuable years in the pillars carving and idols of the temple. Temple construction started in the year of 1979 and it was inaugurated in the year of 1992 and from thereafter, it is one of the popular tourism attraction among the tourist. Tourists are allowed to explore the temple in batch only. The focal point of attraction in the main temple is Nagara-style architecture.

There is no entry fee to explore the temple. The timing is to explore the temple from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Arti usually performed at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. If tourists want to visit the exhibition hall, they can visit from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The entry fee for the exhibition hall is Rs 60. Apart from it, one can visit Abhishek Mandapam, Prasad Mandapam, exhibitions and other museums also.
