Somnath:
Somnath Temple is situated in the western coastal area of Gujarat. It is believed that it is the first jyotirlinga among the 12 jyotirlingas. History:
Somnath is one of the prominent pilgrimage points among the tourist in the account of Triveni Sangam. Three rivers meet at the Sangam point that is Kapila, Hiran and Sarasvati. As per the devotee, Soma, the moon god, believed that he had lost his lustre due to the curse and bathed into the Saraswati River to become free from the curse. So the name of the town means the lord of the moon.
